The opportunity gap closes here

!GNITE gives talented young people aged 14 to 25 from underrepresented backgrounds the role models, the skills, and the access they need. Not just to get into the room, but to hold their own once they are in it.

Real outcomes, real change

Everything below actually happened. No projections, no estimates. These are the results we can point to when a young person was given the access they deserved.

Professional success

A Deloitte placement that turned into a permanent job offer

One participant won a competitive one-year placement at Deloitte. They did so well that Deloitte offered them a permanent role to start when they graduated.

Higher education

A place at the University of Loughborough to read Business Analytics

A teenage participant earned a place with strong entry grades, after building a clear academic plan through the programme.

Academic excellence

Top GCSE grades, with an Oxford application underway

Straight As and A*s across the board. The participant is now working towards a place at the University of Oxford.

Early intervention

GCSE choices that actually match a career plan

Career guidance at the right moment helped one participant pick the right subjects, well before the wrong choices could close any doors.

Why this matters

The gap is built in. So is our answer to it.

Whether a young person reaches their potential often comes down to one conversation, with the right person, at the right time.

!GNITE creates those conversations on purpose, four times a year, for young people who would otherwise never get them.

Role models who feel within reach

We bring in young professionals alongside senior executives, so the journeys they share still feel possible.

We start early

We begin at 14, before the wrong subject choices get made and before self-doubt has a chance to settle in.

Skills with structure

Four modules cover what employers genuinely look for: clear communication, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and a professional presence.

Built to be trusted

Full safeguarding, DBS, GDPR, and financial controls in place because corporate partners expect nothing less.

For corporate partners

More than a box to tick

A partnership with !GNITE gives you a real, measurable stake in social mobility. The programme is built to stand up to scrutiny, and the outcomes are ones you can report with confidence.

Visibility

You become a named programme partner, with your brand present at events and across our materials.

A talent pipeline

You get early sight of motivated young people from underrepresented backgrounds who genuinely want a successful career.

Impact you can report

After each event we send you a report you can use for ESG reporting, social value frameworks, and updates to your own stakeholders.

About !GNITE

Built to close the gap,
and built to last

We are an organisation with one job: giving young people from underrepresented backgrounds the same shot at a career that others get without thinking about it.

Our mission

“To inspire young people aged 14 to 25 by giving them access to role models, practical insight, and the skills to succeed in their careers.”

The opportunity gap in UK corporate life is real and well documented. Plenty of young people are bright and driven, but they do not have the networks, the language, or the inside knowledge that others pick up simply by being close to it.

We set up !GNITE to tackle that head on, with a properly run programme that teaches real skills, opens real doors, and builds a community that lasts.

Our approach

Why it works

Most mentoring schemes pair a student with a senior executive and hope something sticks. We do it differently, and the outcomes back us up.

Role models who relate

Our speakers are young professionals, close enough to the journey that what they say lands as honest rather than distant.

The real story, not the highlight reel

We ask speakers to talk about the setbacks and the wrong turns, not the tidy LinkedIn version. That is what builds resilience.

Early, and decisive

Starting at 14 means we reach young people before the choices that are hardest to undo: subjects, university, and the quiet assumptions about what is possible.

The !GNITE Circle

Four roles, one community

The programme runs as a community where everyone has a clear role, and every role counts.

The !GNITE Circle: Stars at the centre, surrounded by Torchbearers, Catalysts and Partners Stars Participants, aged 14 to 25, at the heart of everything Torchbearers Advisory board Catalysts Volunteers Partners Corporate supporters Guidance flows inward. Opportunity flows outward. Every role supports the Stars.

Torchbearers, our advisory board

Senior figures who steer the strategy, open doors to corporate partners, and hold the programme to a high standard.

Catalysts, our volunteers

Young professionals who run the events and mentor participants, and who pick up real leadership experience in return.

Stars, our participants

Young people aged 14 to 25 from underrepresented backgrounds, chosen for their drive and potential, who join us for four workshops a year.

Partners

The companies and institutions who back us with funding, venues, and expertise, and who see measurable social impact for doing so.

The Programme

Structured, deliberate,
four times a year

Four in-person workshops a year, each built around a specific skill, and each shaped by the real barriers young people hit on the way into corporate careers.

Who we serve

The transition timeline

We work right across the 14 to 25 range, because the decisions that shape a career do not all happen at once. They stack up.

14 to 16

GCSE students

Early career exploration and sensible subject planning, so that decisions are not made by accident.

16 to 18

A-level and further education

Support with the big calls around university, apprenticeships, and vocational routes, at the point where they matter most.

18 to 25

University, Apprenticeship, Vocational training and graduates

Help bridging the gap between a qualification and a career, so young adults can take on a competitive job, trade or business with confidence.

The curriculum

Four modules, one clear direction

Each quarterly workshop tackles one skill we know holds underrepresented talent back from a successful career.

Q1. Critical thinking and problem solving

How to weigh evidence, work through a problem, and make decisions when the answer is not obvious.

Q2. Communicating well

How to hold your own in rooms that matter, in writing, out loud, and in the way you carry yourself.

Q3. Emotional intelligence under pressure

Self-awareness, resilience, and reading a room. These are the things that decide who gets on beyond the graduate intake.

Q4. Networking and building your profile

How to build a network and a reputation when you did not start with the contacts others take for granted.

What a day looks like

A full day, and a real one

Each workshop runs from 11am to 4.45pm in London, run to a professional standard from the first hello to the last handshake.

11.00

Welcome and setting the scene

Introductions, a warm-up, and a clear sense of what the day is for.

11.30

A guest speaker walks through their real journey: the obstacles, the turns, and what they learned.

13.00

Skills workshop

A hands-on session on the day's core skill.

15.00

A corporate partner shares a look at real careers and the openings they have.

16.00

Hot buffet and networking

here for you

Whether you are a corporate partner, a young professional with something to offer, or a young person ready to take your career seriously, there is a way in.

Make social mobility part of your story, and have the evidence to show it

We offer corporate partners a credible, well-run way to back social mobility, one that goes well past a cheque and a logo.

  • Named recognition as a headline or supporting partner at events and across our materials
  • A dedicated slot in the workshop to talk about your organisation and the careers in it
  • A post-event report for your ESG reporting and stakeholder updates
  • Early sight of motivated, high-potential talent from underrepresented backgrounds
  • An invitation to programme events, including the closing networking session
  • Your name alongside a programme that meets full safeguarding, GDPR, and financial compliance standards

What partnership looks like

Headline Partners co-brand the workshop, get a named slot on the day, and receive a detailed report afterwards. Supporting Partners get visibility and networking access.

Lead something that matters, and build skills that last

Catalysts, our volunteers, do a lot more than help on the day. They shape strategy, run operations, support participants, and gain genuine experience doing so.

  • Hands-on leadership across strategy, operations, and running events
  • Mentoring from Torchbearers with senior corporate backgrounds
  • Proper recognition for what you contribute and what you learn
  • Access to our network of corporate partners and speakers
  • A real, evidenced line on your CV

Who we are looking for

Most of our Catalysts are young professionals who have walked the path our participants are just starting, and who want to help the next group do the same.

You do not need a background in youth work or education. You need energy, reliability, and something real to share.

Your ambition is enough to get started

!GNITE is for young people aged 14 to 25 who want more and are ready to put the work in. It is free to take part, because our partners cover the cost.

  • Four in-person workshops a year in London, each on a skill that counts
  • Access to speakers who have done exactly what you are setting out to do
  • A Catalyst mentor to support you through the programme
  • A line to corporate partners and the opportunities they have
  • A group of peers who are as driven as you are

Am I eligible?

We work with young people aged 14 to 25 from underrepresented backgrounds who want a corporate career. We look for drive and commitment, not grades, contacts, or background.

Workshops are held in London, and we expect you to come to all four in the year.
